The link on the left will take you to my business web site.  There are no links on that site pointing to this area. If you want to return to this page, click on the handle of the key on the right side of the home page (see the picture over here ==>), or use the "Back" button on your browser toolbar.

Recently, I have begun using Picasa from Google to put pictures on the web. Access to my albums on that service is available from this link.

Nolan also maintains a public gallery.

One key to success is knowing what has worked elsewhere.

In September 2006, I took a biking trip to Crater Lake with Bicycle Adventures.

From left to right, front row to back, we have Marv, Scott, Kim, Ro, David, then Dick, Pat, Thomas, Stephen, Alisa, Lovisa, & Nolan.

I have started adding in photos from the South African portion of our trip. I am setting them up on a separate page (or pages?) because there are so many photos. To go to the first page, click here on South African Tour.

Family pictures from Guildford. These include Glyn & Hilary, Wendy & Tessa, Gilly & Tom, and the FitzGeralds, Michael, Karen, Killian, and Katie (not in that exact order!).

We also visited Cheltenham, where we saw the Buckleys (Richard, Elfie, & Benedict), and the Couchourons (Pierre & Hannalore), old friends from New York in the late 60's!

Sunday afternoon and evening in Brenham with the O'Malley's. We saw a performance of The Odd Couple in the very nice Brenham Unity Theater, then dinner with Dick & Marcena, and a visit to Allen and Mary Ann's new place at Round Rock

We had a great trip to Shreveport with Martha Steves.

We looked out the front window of the Cohen residence on Saturday morning to see this view of the boat harbor at Belmont Harbor on the shore of Lake Michigan.

The next two days were a great, but short, visit to Chicago.

VA 216 WestPac '65-'66 Cruise

We had a great reunion in Richmond with a celebration at the Museum.

Here is our leader with the crew that recreated the "piece of resistance" of the event!

Carol's birthday in New York.

Miscellaneous scenes in and around Brooklyn & Manhattan.

Mark & Katherine were married in Orlando in early April.  The family celebrated at a dinner on Saturday evening, followed by the outdoor wedding on Sunday morning.

An old friend sent this great video of a carrier landing at night, what we called a "night trap"!  It brought back a lot of memories watching it. The image on the left is a picture of one of my squadron aircraft, number NP 693, with the unit insignia painted on it, Attack Squadron 216, known as VA-216, the "Black Diamonds". I spent two years with this unit and made two cruises to the Pacific, serving in and around Vietnam.

I don't know what kind of aircraft is involved in this video, but it appears to be shot from a "right seat" in the plane. It all happens pretty fast, but if you pause the show at 42 seconds, you can get a good view of what we were looking for as we approached the ship. On the left, if you look carefully, you can see the "meatball" in the middle of the horizontal line of lights that told us that we were on the right glide-slope for a good landing.

The video will play with Windows Media Player.

David and Oona just came back from a trip to South Africa (this page is a slide show) and provided us with some photos taken there. Their trip included the Seringa Ranch in northern South Africa just south of a small town named Ellisras, very close to the border. From there, they went to Johannesburg, Pretoria, Plettenburg Bay, and Capetown.

We don't have notations on the photos yet, but they are still interesting to look at.  If I can get more information on where some of the photos were taken, or some stories behind the shots, I will post them with the photos.

These pages are set up as 30 shots to a page.

David Myers will have one of his plays produced in Houston in February 2005!

Shatterings

"The sound of someone separating is much the same as glass breaking.  In both cases the sudden snap and pull, the tension of the elements at play, make for a pulling in multiple directions..."

On January 8th, 2005, we gathered in Shreveport to honor my Mother's 90th birthday. The event was attended by a couple of hundred of her nearest and dearest friends, family and admirers.

We had a video tape collected at the event and did some interviews with my mother that is in the process of being completed.  I hope to have it available soon and to post it here for anyone who might be interested in seeing it.

"Gib Mir A Heym"

Get more information about the group ("Tzimmes") performing this great piece at their web site. I got this song off a wonderful album that they made, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves any kind of folk music!
